Ben was Deputy Director of the JASSM cruise missile program at Lockheed Martin Corporation for the United States Air Force. His initiative in establishing Lockheed Martin’s quality-based auditing process, “Process Verification Program” for the JASSM program has been adopted as a Lockheed Martin Best Practice, as well as a USAF practice across other weapon systems. The end result is that many validation processes are streamlined and production delays eliminated.

Ben was the Deputy Director of the JASSM cruise missile program at Lockheed Martin Corporation forvthe United States Air Force. His initiative in establishing Lockheed Martin’s quality-based auditing process, “Process Verification Program” for the JASSM program has been adopted as a Lockheed Martin Best Practice, as well as a USAF practice across other weapon systems. After 35 years in the aerospace industry, Ben provided consulting services to the cruise line industry on the United States Public Health, Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) Construction Guidelines. He has provided consultation and inspection efforts for the modernization of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ships, as well as for the Fincantieri, VARD, and Chantiers de l'Atlantique and other shipyards. Ben coordinated the “Outbreak Prevention & Response Plan Template” for CLIA (Cruise Line International Association) and facilitated process reviews for cruise lines on public health procedures in accordance with U.S. and international requirements. Ben has delivered onboard training on Risk Management and assisted public health audits for MSC Cruise Line. In addition to his engineering specialties, he is multi-skilled in organizational processes, as well as Surveillance Management, including the implementation of quality based Commercial Risk Management Systems.

Ben is President of Bhirschenfang, LLC. – an engineering-based company that provides a streamlined risk-based approach using a process management methodology. He has worked extensively with hotels and associations throughout Florida as a Vice President with the Property Review Program (PRP), a best practice hotel program that exists throughout Florida. He has led auditing teams in inspecting hotels for the Florida Superior Small Lodging Association, creating an automated form that facilitated the identification of risks and non-compliances along with recommended corrective actions. Ben has extensive executive-level management and production experience in Risk Management Systems, Leadership Development and Effectiveness, Contracts, Business Development, and Lean Six-Sigma. He has extensive experience in undertaking sensitive needs assessments for national governments. He is a graduate of City College of the City University of New York, holding a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a number of professional citations and was awarded numerous Employee Excellence Awards while at Lockheed Martin Corporation.
